Granbury lake levels are normal and some stained water in the backs of creeks is possible due to recent rains. Floating debris may be encountered navigating the lake, so be careful out there.Brazos River. The Brazos River is the largest river between the Rio Grande and the Red River has a total length of about 840 miles from the source of its longest fork. The river flows through most of the major physiographic regions of Texas. The Brazos has three upper forks: the Double Mountain, the Salt Fork, and the Clear Fork.The Brazos River Authority has declared Lake Granbury unsafe due to debris in the water. Because of recent major rain events where huge flows of water are moving downstream in Texas reservoirs, an individual’s risk is highly increased due to debris in the water and fluctuating lake levels that expose stumps and other hazards.Lake Granbury was completed in September 1969 and filled to capacity before the end of that year.
